Courage+ Salon

A Social Enterprise Beauty Salon

Meet Rob

With over 18 years in the beauty industry, Rob brings a focus on color, connection, and the belief that personal care can be a powerful tool for confidence and self-expression. His work goes beyond technique, centering each person’s experience, identity, and sense of belonging.

Rob is trained in PsychoHairapy, equipping him to thoughtfully integrate mental health awareness into his work. He is also pursuing a degree in social work, with the goal of earning his Master’s.

At Courage+, Rob’s work lives at the intersection of beauty and community, helping reimagine the salon as a space for connection, confidence, and care. Outside of the salon, Rob enjoys reading, cooking, and bringing people together around the table.

Services

At Courage+ Salon, our services go beyond hair, we create affirming, trauma-informed experiences where every person who walks through our doors feels seen, respected, and valued.

We specialize in serving the LGBTQ+ community, foster-involved youth and families, and individuals who have experienced trauma or have sensory needs. Our approach is rooted in care, dignity, and the understanding that something as simple as a haircut can be deeply personal.

Appointments

At Courage+ Salon, appointments are centered around your comfort, choice, and experience, for every individual we serve.  Whether you are booking for yourself or for a young person in your care, our goal is to create a space where you or your loved one, feel safe, informed, and in control, from the moment you book to the end of your service.

We aim to meet every individual exactly where they’re at. After scheduling, you’ll be contacted to talk through needs, preferences, and any sensory considerations so we can tailor the experience accordingly. You and/or your child will never be rushed.

Every service is delivered through a trauma-informed lens. This means we prioritize consent at every step, clearly explain what to expect before and during the appointment, maintain a calm and predictable environment, and respect boundaries without question.

We understand that salon experiences can feel overwhelming or triggering for some. Our goal is to restore a sense of safety, trust, and ease, so each person can relax and fully be themselves.
